¡expo de volcanes!

Para mostrar las láminas impresas y poder hablar como es debido sobre los cuatro tipos de lava, cambiar impresiones sobre el sonido de cristales rotos de las coladas, los cumulonimbos de ceniza y otros temas de conversación,

estoy preparando una exposición para el mes que viene. Además de las láminas, he estado trabajando en telas de gran formato [¿cómo de grande? me alegra que me hagas esa pregunta. son cuadrados de 220 x 220 cm :) ], para darle un final piroclástico al tema.

inauguración el viernes 5 de noviembre a las 18:00 en Espacios Comunes (c/ Lorenzana 2, metro Estrecho/Francos Rodríguez) 

Estará toda la semana siguiente, hasta el cierre (finissage) que será el viernes 12 de noviembre, de nuevo a las 18:00. Aparte de esos dos días, se podrá visitar la exposición durante esa semana (del 5/11 al 14/11) con cita previa conmigo. 

QUÉ GANAS. 

Un vistacito al proceso de pintura XXL:

¡láminas! lava y humo en papel

¡Por fin! De la imprenta salen calentitas las láminas de las veintinueve imágenes de volcanes y humo que he sacado. Cada una pertenece a una serie limitada de 10 unidades, firmadas y numeradas individualmente. Son de 32 x 32 cm (como una carpeta de vinilo), impresas en un papel Hahnemühle mate de 308g, libre de ácido.

Se imprimen bajo demanda. En la expo podréis ver una muestra de cada, y encargar la que queráis. al alcanzar la décima copia, la serie se cierra. Cuestan 60 eur de entrada, y el precio irá subiendo según queden menos unidades.

¿Cómo comprarlas?
-En persona: en Madrid, acercándose a la inauguración el 5 de Noviembre, donde estarán expuestas las copias #1 de cada serie. Si las encargáis ese día, las podréis recoger en el cierre el 12 de Noviembre, o recibirlas por correo en casa.
-Virtualmente: a través de mi tienda online, donde estarán disponibles a partir del 13 de Noviembre.

Gracias a toda la gente que me habéis estado enviando vídeos y fotos de la erupción del Cumbre Vieja en la Palma (te miro a ti, Miguel GC, en tu tiempo libre). Las últimas imágenes que he producido han tenido como referencia directa esta erupción.

Particularmente impresionantes: Erupción y manta de ceniza, y el curso de la lava en realidad virtual. También he estado leyendo sobre los cuatro tipos de costra que forma la lava: a'a, pahoehoe, de bloque, de almohada. Los dos primeros son términos del hawaiano: a'a es el sonido que harías si intentas pisarla, y a veces suena a cristales rotos al avanzar; pahoehoe forma ríos líquidos, y cuerdas.
Las otras dos las comentamos en la expo dentro de dos semanas, a ver si me da tiempo a pintarlas (!).

¡erupción de materia! gracias por leer. por cierto, he estado releyendo la trilogía the Broken Earth the N.K. Jemisin, por resonancia con la temática (tectónica). es muy recomendable. si la queréis en pdf en esp, o un préstamo físico en inglés, dadme un toquecito.

-a volcano exhibition!
in order to properly show the prints and discuss the four types of lava flow, chat about their sound of broken glass, ash cumulonimbos and other conversation themes, I am preparing an exhibition. apart from the prints, i've been working on large scale linen [how large? glad you asked! they're 7.2 x 7.2 ft :) ]. I'm aiming for a pyroclastic ending.

mark your calendars! opening is friday november 5th at 6pm at Espacios Comunes (calle Lorenzana 2, metro Estrecho/Francos Rodríguez) It will be up all week, until the closing (finissage) on friday nov 12th at 6pm. visits during the week with appointment (contact me!).

finally! fresh out of the printer come twenty-nine images of volcanoes and smoke. each belongs to a closed edition of 10, signed and numbered individually. they measure 12.6 x 12.6 inches (LP record sleeve size), and are printed on 308 g Hahnemüehle acid-free, matt paper.

they are printed on demand. during the exhibition you'll be able to order them, and when reaching the 10th copy of each, the series will be closed. the price starts at 60 eur, and will rise as availability decreases.

how to buy them?
-in person: coming to the exhibition opening on nov 5th in Madrid, where the #1 of each print series will be shown. if you order a print then, you'll be able to pick it up on the closing on nov 12th, or have it sent home.
-online: through my online store, where they will be available from november 13th. 

-from the archive: cumbre vieja is still pouring out
thanks to all of you who've been sharing videos and pictures of the eruption of the volcano in La Palma (such as MiguelGC, in his free time). the latest images i've done have this volcano as visual reference. particularly impressive: eruption and ash blanket, and the lava flow in virtual reality. i've also been reading about the four types of lava flow: a'a, pahoehoe, block, pillow. the first two are hawaiian terms: a'a is the sound you'd make if you set foot on it, and it makes broken glass sounds when advancing; pahoehoe forms liquid rivers, and rope shapes. i'm saving the other two for further discussion, hopefully i'll have them on canvas in two weeks (!).    

what an outpour! thanks for reading. speaking of which, i've been rereading the Broken Earth trilogy by N.K. Jemisin. it resonates with the (tectonic) theme, and i very much recommend it.
